Highlights

The lo-fi generator gets a major redesign. Simple mode — a faithful port of the lofi-engine sound — is now the default, with a Pro/Simple toggle, redesigned Remix dialog, and a meaningful step up in audio production quality.

• Simple generator mode as the new default — piano-led, sparse, classic lo-fi feel with continuous evolution between tracks
• Pro/Simple toggle in the Now Playing card to switch between the minimal Simple experience and the full Pro setup
• Prev/Next transport in the generator — step back through previous seeds or roll a fresh one without restarting playback

Improvements

• Generator audio production pass: sidechain pumping on bass against the kick, tape saturation, recorded vinyl crackle, master EQ carve, and irregular tape flutter — closer to a produced lo-fi sound rather than a clinical mix
• Station templates now drive per-station drum kits and ambient layers in Simple mode, so different stations actually sound different
• Free-trial banner reframed as "Weekly Premium" everywhere it appeared — banner, settings, upload status, exhaustion toasts, and the premium-icon labels on stations, packs, and custom streams — accurately reflects the recurring weekly allowance instead of implying a one-time trial that runs out

Improvements

• Trial-aware paywall copy in Settings — clear framing on what the trial unlocks and when it resets. New Manage link goes straight to the customer portal.
• Audio fades gracefully when the trial runs out mid-listening, instead of cutting to silence.
• Manage Plan in Settings opens a personalized customer-portal session for your account.
• License validation errors now report what specifically went wrong (missing configuration, invalid key, server error) instead of always saying "Invalid license key."
• Packs subview in Upload mode, alongside Quick FX and Lo-Fi Cover.
• Tighter spacing on the Now Playing, Radio, and Visualizer cards; visualizer canvas slightly taller so it matches the Now Playing card height.

Fixes

• Tab audio metadata populates immediately when you open the popup against an already-paused tab (was showing empty defaults).
• Upload preview audio plays again — Quick FX and Lo-Fi Cover preview was silent due to a binary-buffer serialization issue between the popup and the offscreen document.
• Audio volume restores after fade-out — previously a sleep-timer or trial-exhaustion fade could leave the next playback silent until you restarted the browser.
• Popup layout is more stable — locked to a fixed size so overlays can't shrink it, and no layout shift when scrollbars appear.

First public release

LoveLofi is now available on the Chrome Web Store. The extension turns any browser tab into a lo-fi listening station — stream curated radio, apply real-time audio effects to any tab's audio, mix in ambient sounds, and run focus sessions, all from a single popup that lives next to your address bar.

Highlights

The desktop window can now detach from the tray and float freely wherever you want it.

New

• Drag-to-detach window. Drag the window off its anchored position to place it anywhere on screen — it stays open without auto-hiding. Click the tray icon to snap it back under the tray and resume always-on-top + auto-hide behavior. The toggle shortcut respects the detach state, and the header has a grab cursor to hint at the drag zone.

Improvements

• External links (checkout, etc.) open in your system browser instead of inside the app window.
• Updated Discord invite link.

First public release

LoveLofi Desktop brings the LoveLofi listening experience to a native menu-bar app on macOS, Windows, and Linux. All the core features from the browser extension — lo-fi radio, real-time audio effects, ambient sounds, and focus tools — now run in a dedicated app that lives in your tray and stays out of your way.
